Friday night and I'm glad to be in my room, ready for bed. It has been a long two days. Today we learned some interesting things: how to deal with people that need to deal with substance abuse/addiction with friends/family; different drugs and their effects on people; what weed smells like; how do "document an incident" (bust people); and how to deal with community relationships within our buildings. I then spent the night with Joshua, working on ideas for bulletin boards/door tags, which I still have yet to finish. My idea is so bomb, but the execution should be challenging. I just hope my residents appreciate them. There's a clue in this post as to what the theme is, but the residents have to figure it out for themselves, so it's gonna be fun, if they want to get involved.
Well, more training in the morning && maybe time with Eric tomorrow night! Until next time, here's a song stuck in my head:
Take these broken wings and learn to fly.
All your life,
You were only waiting for this moment to arise.
i'm quite glad that you decided on "sunshine slows" because i think this is a very fitting name other than "sunshine & cupcakes." i have to go through an interviewing process, i believe, in the beginning of february, so i'm quite nervous. i want to be an RA so bad.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like the name. && I'll be praying for you to get that position. :)
